  1. Hi David,

Just to let you know that I have recently completed a Cape Horn rounding on board square rigged sailing vessel bark “Europa” in commemoration of the discovery of Cape Horn by two Dutch explorers 400 years ago. Your book was in the ship’s library and was read by a number of people (on my recommendation) and we even had the opportunity to take some sights( sun and starts) with the sextants on board the vessel under the guidance of a crew member. Most observations were only a few miles out from the GPS position.

    Kind regards
    Peter van Duyn

  2. Thanks very much Peter – I’m so glad you enjoyed the book and also managed to take some sights. Keep at it if you can – it’s so rewarding. I envy you your Cape Horn passage – I hope the weather was kind to you. Happy new year.

    All the best

    David
